The Original King of the Pirates, 5th Emperor of the Sea, The Liberator, The Joy Boy, Sun God Nika, Straw-hat Pom
While drawing Pokemon Pirates, I had to do one based on one of the most famous and influential Pirates in all of fiction: The Captain of the Straw-hat Pirates Monkey D. Luffy. (I wanted to call him "Mankey D. Luffy" but Luffy's personality feels more like an Aipom or Ambipom than a Mankey. It's probably the big ever-present grin)
In Kaida's time Ambi is a Legend, she grew up reading stories about Ambi D. Pom's great adventures, which became a major influence on her wanting to become the ruler of Pirate herself, and inspiring many of her ideals about what it means to be a Pirate: The Pursuit of one's Dreams, helping others achieve their own dreams, loyalty to one's friends and crew, and Absolute unrestrained Freedom!
