[Goal] Getting the Derg A PC
Hello everyone, I hope you guys are doing great.
So let me start this off by saying this is all personal. There’s no emergency bills needed to be taken care of. And this is to get a person a computer.
So Zane has been my partner for a while as well as Twi’s partner. We try our best to help each other out. And we decided it is time that Zane got a Personal Computer for himself.
We had hoped that he was eligible for a Loan system in Best Buy but he wasn't able to get it. So we decided to save up the money ourselves.
We have about $500 saved up already, our goal is to reach $1500 in total.
A breakdown of why we need $1500
- $1200 for the pc
- $100 for a decent monitor
- $200 for Taxes, fees, and uber (sadly he doesn’t have a reliable ride)
We already have $500
So we need $1000
This is the rough estimate.
I do want to emphasize this isn’t something we are begging people to help us with. I understand money is tough at the moment, but viewing and sharing this helps more than you think.
Even if no one donates. It is fine, it just means that we are gonna reach this goal much later in the year.
So here are some Q&A questions on how / why I would want to do this:
First, Why do we want to get him a pc?
Mostly want to get him a PC for content creation. I believe that getting a pc will help him be a bit creative. He has a lot of ideas that he runs by me and wants to be made but doesn't have the tools. Not only sfm. He has shown interests in Blender, unity, and twitch.
Content creation? Why?
Well us as humans we like to create stuff and be proud of it. We like to try to put things together and make something new. I stream some of my sessions of sfm to him and he’s shown interest in the program. Even teaching others tricks even though I never tell him how to do it. (honestly freaked me out the first time it happened XD)
He also likes streaming since he streams to me and my friends and he's entertaining to watch. I feel like this could get him a creative outlet.
Why can’t he just buy it on his own?
We were hoping that Best Buy would give a loan and allow him to get the pc and pay it off with weekly payments. If that was the case i would have taught him alot about sfm and maybe he would be able to open commissions (i wouldn't advise it yet till he is ready / comfortable with taking commissions). other then that we've been saving slowly with paychecks on his end and commisioned on mine.
What about getting more jobs?
I…WISH!!! The job market sucks. Zane was very happy he was able to land a part time job at retail but for me and twi are still searching. We have tried everything. Indeed, walk-ins, temp agencies, job fairs, remote work.
As for twi helping me with sfm or drawings she doesn't have the artistic drive she once had. She’s more focused on putting in for work. We're hoping for something soon.

I feel like getting a PC for zane would be helpful. Especially for me. So far I have made content. 24/7. You can ask zane. You can ask twi, you can ask all my friends “hey how's bob doing / what does bob do most of the day” and they can say “working” with a good 95% hit.
I work almost everyday and most of the time. Trying to catch up with coms and making money to help all 3 of us out. I hope that once we get Zane a pc he's gonna be able to make his own creations that will be a great investment to help one another.
Like I said, if people don't feel like this is worth it. I understand.
$1000 is a lot but it just means if we’re able to get help we can reach the goal faster and make more content.
If you have any suggestions on what I should do to reach this goal please let me know. Cause i know commission work could help and an actual job but i am trying both and so far just stuck..
Maybe some small looped animations could be sold or something with sfm.
Drawings are off the table for now. i feel like i need to rework my prices (seriously though i wish there was like a guide i can understand on pricing my stuff that didn't make me feel like a hack x.x). I lost confidence with drawing ever since AI came out but now that I'm hearing that it's dying and seeing proof that it is im actually trying to attempt drawing again.
Heres were to donate:
- ko-fi - simple, official. theres a tracker with the 500 already on there so that helps
https://ko-fi.com/vitaminbob
- Commisions - Im going to be opening commisions soon and have a sale both for sfm and drawings. though i think its going to be drawings first since i am already packed on SFM.
Thank you guys for reading my rant. I know this is a bit odd since I don't do post’s like these.
and one last time. this is a personal, non-emergency, type deal. I want it to be known.
I am grateful for each and everyone of you. Honestly love making art and hope to continue as the journey goes on. Have a good day/afternoon/or night.
Love Y’all, <3
