The Blue Core is one of the two power spheres that appeared in Astro Boy (2009 movie). The Blue Core contains stable and positive energy that could potentially restore Earth's damaged ecosystems. The energy produced by the core is seemingly infinite, and is both stronger and cleaner than nuclear energy. Due to it's nature for containing positive energy, The Peacekeeper would become a peaceful robot if it had the Blue Core loaded into its body (a fact that indirectly confirmed when it loaded on Astro's body instead that made him a peaceful individual). It is what powers Astro in the 2009 film. Blue Core, along with the Red Core, are created from the fragment of a star that located million years away from Earth that no longer exists in the present. It’s not mentioned how the cores’ material acquired, either gained through expedition to the outer space or the material itself fell on Earth as a meteor before the scientist examined it and discovered it’s nature as star fragment. Either way, the energy that gained from the star fragment has properly harnessed and encased within spherical cores. During the extraction process, it’s revealed that the energy within the star fragment consists of bluish white positive energy and the reddish jet-black negative energy. Both energies have negative reactions to one another due to their opposing properties, the blue energy being stable and revitalizing and the red energy being volatile and destructive. This was discovered when the positive energy extracted completely from the star fragment, left the fragment nothing but highly unstable and corruptive red energy. Due to the opposing nature of both types of energy, they were extracted into two separate cores to prevent a potentially hazardous reaction. As seen from Dr. Elefun's presentation, the Blue Core has the potential to revive the already collapsed ecosystems on earth. Though it's exact potential was unknown, it's also revealed that Blue Core Energy can not only power up inactive machines, but also repair both internal and external damage done to them: this rejuvenating effect was demonstrated when Astro revived Zog, a huge disabled robot that has been severely corroded. As with the red core, its counterpart, both can be neutralized with each other's energy.
