As soon as Mr. Bomb left, Louis and Theo rushed after the fugitives. The deer and the panther heard what Kyoji had said, and after analyzing everything the boys had found, they put the puzzle together. The figures stood near the ship as if waiting for them.
“Guys, come on, why are you doing this!” shouted Louis to them, barely as he and Theo approached them. “You're not like this, are you!”
“Why! You still have the nerve to ask that question?!” a tall figure thundered, pulling off his hood, and John appeared before his astonished friends, flashing violet eyes.
“We did what we wanted by hurting you, so now you're in our place,” the smaller figure added. Theo walked over and carefully removed his hood.
“Hera, I didn't mean to...” he muttered. The cat looked at the panther, and the prince saw that he was barely holding back tears.
“Shut up before I use the fireball on you again!” exclaimed Herman. “You're disgusting and insolent! You smug cretin! You are not a prince! You're just an arrogant and capricious boy!”
“That's what I was going to say to you, Louis,” John said coldly, glaring at the deer. “You and Theo brought the situation to this, now we're going to be like this!”
“But we're...” Theo couldn't believe it. He really didn't want the guys to be mean. Suddenly, he and Luis hugged the guys.
“Please forgive us,” the prince said. “We'll leave if you wish...”
“We...we...”
Herman and John felt awkward. Yes, they had tried their best to make these two feel guilty, but now it came to them: they had overdone it.
“You're the ones who'll forgive us,” the cat said, stroking Theo. “We just wanted you to feel our worries.”
“But we didn't know you'd be so worried...” muttered John. Louis looked at him sadly.
“Why didn't you ask us to help right away?”
“We had so many negative emotions,” Herman admitted. “When Theo kicked Torahiko out, I couldn't think of anything better to do than to do the whole thing. We hid on purpose so you wouldn't find us and then show up in front of you. But then I lost the ring and John lost the book. Yeah, and I couldn't bring myself to hurt you with the balloon either.”
The last sentence was said by Theo, who was very tense. The bear and cat freed themselves from the guys' embrace and went to their room.
“Theo, you and I have set them up to be pissed off for a long time now,” whispered the deer. The panther nodded.
“You're right. And you and I really are being nasty...”
