You'ld think with how much Rainbow Dash looks up to the Wonderbolts, she'd understand how Scootaloo feels about her, but while Rainbow Dash may have been the Element of Harmony's Loyalty for a time, Dashie's understanding of relationships and teamwork seems to need a bit of time to mature before she really "get"s it. If you've ever puzzled over why Dashie hasn't joined the Wonderbolts after all the things she's done to be noticed and remembered by them, that's why. Godlike skills can't do a lot of good for a group if you can't connect with the rest of your team.
As for Scootaloo, she's already with the Cutie Mark Crusaders. They all have their weaknesses and strengths as individuals, but as a group, they also tend to neglect the individual. In this way, the Cutie Mark Crusaders as a band are unlikely to ever discover their cutie marks, and there will come a day where one of them returns to the rest of the group to report that they've found their mark and don't know if they belong to the group anymore... Unless, of course, Scootaloo performs the legendary Sonic Rainboom. Then they can all find their marks together.

As for the huh, I don't think any of that is going to make much sense unless you've seen at the very minimum the second episode involving the Elements of Harmony, a later episode called Cutie Mark Chronicles, and the last episode The Best Night Ever. If you're set on avoiding the series, then it's pretty much irrelevant for you.
It's nothing gory or anything, though, if that's a concern?
