This is half ventart, but then again so is everything involving this character. That's my excuse if this doesn't make any sense.
Of course the territory Nyat told her about had weird neighbors, though Rubica did not expect to find another magic user like her. Unfortunately this bobcat is a lot to handle at the best of times, and Rubica isn't exactly very ready to connect with another like her. She escaped that town, but it left its mark.
Also I've toyed with the idea of giving Rubica's emotional wounds voices. Certainly it's a canon trait that she talks to herself a lot.

When I made Rubica I intended for her to be in a web-comic, but I also have an allergy to thought bubbles, so the solution was to have her do a lot of thinking out loud. I'm just considering having Rubica answer.
For the record I don't think anyone who "thinks out loud" is crazy. I do it all the time, because it makes my thoughts more clear.

Yeah, she does find peace and connection eventually, but she has some serious baggage to get through before she gets there at this point in her story. Yeah, Rubica is probably one of my most deeply traumatized characters at this point. She didn't start that way, but none of my characters do.
