The carbuncle familiar of Nahk'ya, a Miqo'te summoner now journeying across Eorzea, is named Skittles. Skittles is as sassy and smart as he is vain and hedonistic. Joined as they are by magic, he is ride or die for his feline Master yet they frequently bicker. Nahk'ya frequently threatens to eat the carbuncle enough that his companions jokingly speak of their relationship being one of snacker and snackee. Skittles cares for little but eating, sleeping, shiny things, and looking attractive. Fortunately, this makes him immensely bribeable and easy to persuade when push comes to shove.

Aside from Nahk'ya, Skittles is fairly contemptuous of the two legged things that dominate the world around him. They have so many rules and rules simply do not apply to a being of pure magic as glorious as he. He can channel elements with ease and hits way above his weight for similar familiars. It's directing and managing the power and potential that Nahk'ya struggles with. Their battle with Ultima Weapon was nearly a catastrophe when they fell out of sync for a few critical moments while trying to finish the ancient machine-beast with a chromatic limit break.

Considering himself the true Warrior of Light of the duo, Skittles resents not being seen as the brains of the operation. He has recurring fantasies of being a bipedal anthro hero who stands valiantly in the spotlight and gets all the bitches. His misadventures are ongoing but he's a legend in his own mind already.

Somehow a recurring joke on my FF14 group's streams (the vore the carbuncle meme) became an honest to god character to me. Skittles is a nod to one of my favorite candies out there so I could make as many "eating Skittles" jokes as possible. I ended up getting a commission of him from Jwnepy when I became emotionally attached to the idea of him and his character formed a canon despite myself.

My health has been catastrophically bad so my schedule and energy are shot right now but our adventures on ongoing live on Twitch. Our older adventures (at least the ones I've archived under my stressful conditions and health struggles) can be seen on YouTube. I stream as a hobby but am actually close to making affiliate status with just a few more subscribers and chatters so if degenerate furry weirdos playing all sorts of games sounds like your jam, give us a look. Alas I have no fixed schedule since things are so fickle for me but I try to remember to announce it on my Bluesky (@kitkabbit.bsky.social).
