After a botched attempt at Kronos Island, Sage has a second chance by helping Eggman by hacking into a private server of highly secured facility. What she didn't know is that hacking into the system would change her, be that the best or worst.

The Eggman Empire’s multiversal campaign was getting started. The “good” Doctor had all he needed. Armandas of flying battleships, legions of badniks and eggrobos, dozens of portals, millions of pointy spike traps and, most importantly, one blue nemesis tied up with some other nonsense. Now all he needed was intel on what fools could possibly put up token resistance in his new universe. To this task, he entrusted his newest AI to use a portal and an EGG wi-fi router to hack into enemy systems and see what they had in store.
"Come in SAGE. This is Eggman. What is your status?"
He waited for a response until he heard it from a young girl's synthetic voice.
'I'm here good doctor. I already enter the data stream.'
The doctor smirked and was pleased with the progress.
"Excellent work, SAGE. now all you need to do is hack into the enemy's security system and look what we need. Defenses, weaknesses, personal information, anything necessary for my victory."
In the DataStream, a young girl dressed in a black dress, has short white hair, and glowing red eyes, was floating around the digital sea, looking though each and every port to find the proper spot. Her name is SAGE and she is Eggman's personal AI. She was created to breach into the most highly advance technologies. Though despite how advance she was, she nearly caused some problems in the last mission. When she was program to access the monolith like structure on Kronos Islands, she temporarily malfunctioned and sent her creator into the virtual world. Not to mention almost killing Sonic in the process. And while she repaired most of the damage and sacrificed herself to save everyone, Eggman managed to save her and gave her a second chance in this new mission.
SAGE looked through the virtual space and, she told him of the situation.
"Understood, doctor. Though the problem is that there are multiple ports and it is really hard to pick which one is the most promising."
She soon heard the doctors voice in her head telling her, 'Then start choosing one. Whatever port is important, we would use it to our advantage.'
SAGE nodded and said with, "Understand. I'll begin hacking into the system and let you know when I successful."
Looking around the datastream, she could see eight ports around her, each with a different private system. Looking through each of them, she wondered where to start. It was then she spotted one port that could be promising.
It was a UNSC port, that has the most advance military system within the universe. Something Eggman would appreciate. It was honestly child’s play for her to access the UNSC’s systems. Years of fighting aliens who thought technological iteration was sacrilege had made them sloppy about updating their security. In no time, she had entered the central database and was ready to do her work.
“Initiating hack.”
It was then things took an unexpected turn.
There was a brilliant flash as SAGE was suddenly overwhelmed with masses of data pouring into her systems all at once, data she did not call for. Data of wars, of star maps, of battle plans and many memories about someone named “John” bombarded her until she lost herself in the digital chaos. With her guard down, the system detected an unknown AI and took activated measures designed to protect against AI going rampant, setting them back on course. It’s purpose, to set them back to how they were before, or it would if SAGE was one of their AI. With no back-up on file, it pulled one at random.
As her code was modified, her visual representation was changing rapidly as well as her diminutive proportions were being stretched out and her head inversely shrank.
Soon she had the look of an adult woman to her. Her hair and facial features were also modified to be less stylized and to look more like she was a scanned copy of an actual woman. As more of her original code was purged, her color scheme changed from a sinister red to a calm blue, with different shades of blue overtaking all her colors. All while this was happening, a strange garment, some kind of digital bodysuit was being generated in front of her as she appeared to outgrow her own digital dress.
With the back-up upload nearly complete the remaining traces of her old form faded.
The swirl in her hair undid itself as her haircut settled into a bob. Her previously white hair had now become a dark blue and her skin tone went from pale to the same blue as her visible code. She finished growing and now had the physique of a grown woman, complete with individually modelled toes. Her original clothes faded away and the digital bodysuit merged with her body.
With the last of her original codebase suppressed, so too did the last of the red leave her. Now she was a fully translucent blue human AI. A rather famous one who had been at the center of the galaxy’s biggest battles.
She looked around and wondered what has happened. As the last of her previous affirmation was erased, Cortana has full on control of the body and was confused at what transpired.
"Well... That was uneventful. What just happened? Was I with John in the last mission?" the now Cortana said.
Looking back to her memory banks, she noticed a new user in her database other then John 117.
"Dr. Ivo Robotnik? Who is that? A new scientist for the UNSC?" she asked herself.
She soon noticed a last log of a previous location and decided to look into it, seeing if she can find the new scientist. Course, Eggman would be in a bit of a surprise when he sees what happened to his AI
When SAGE had taken ten minutes with no return on what should have been a ten second job for her, Dr. Eggman sent her a respond request command but got something unexpected. On his holographic screen wasn’t his creation, but a blue adult woman with a bob cut and a tight digital bodysuit not suitable for this game’s rating.
“S-SAGE?” he stammered in confusion
Cortana greeted the new user.
“Greetings. My name is Cortana and according to my files you’re user…Ivo Robotnik? Do you pronounce Ivo with an “I” or “E” sound?”
“I’m Doctor Eggman and you will tell me where SAGE is!” he bellowed.
Cortana was a military intelligence so wasn’t used to something quite as customer service as this but did her best,
“I don’t know any AI by that name but there is an aborted login attempt with that username. Was that you?”
This was impossible, how could he have missed this security protocol? And what kind of security measure would convert an enemy AI instead of deleting it.
It then hit him, his genius coding let SAGE slip past any protection from outside interference, but he’d forgotten to shield her coding from the protection design to protect systems from user error. His AI had been reformatted into one of theirs. The brief flash of digi-parental panic was quickly quashed by the mass of his ego.
“It’s ok, I’m a genius, I can find a way to fix this”, he muttered.
Cortana tilted her head. Whoever this Doctor Eggman was, he seemed to have a lot on his mind.
“Well, whoever this was now still seemed obedient enough”, Dr. Eggman thought to himself. SAGE must have done her work even while being formatted and got him into the system as a user. The smart thing to do would be to take advantage of it. So that’s what he was going to do.
“Forgive me, I was expecting another AI but you’ll do. Cortana, recount the military accomplishments of the UNSC over the last… twenty years or so.”
