Intro: Logo and credits play on the screen while a suspenseful tense music plays.
Armadillo: Ms. Mongul?
Scene shows the armadillo lady standing before a door, knocking on it.
Armadillo: Ms. Mongul, are you okay? Your neighbors complained about some noise... Ms. Mongul?
The armadillo opens the door, and gasps as she covers her face with a look of horror on her eyes.
A sequence of flashes follows, showing a snake’s mouth swallowing the lower half of a mongoose, [b]then the mongoose-shaped bulge on the snake’s body, and then the camera moves up to the snake’s head.
The head looks to the camera, the shadows clearing to reveal the face of said snake, which them smiles.
Gary the Snake: Hello!
The Armadillo screams in terror.

The scene changes for a car cop on a chase after a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle crashes, and a bunch of animals in sky masks and with bags of money run out of it. The cruiser stops.
Judy: Stop right there!
The bunny rushes after the criminals, while Nick casually steps out and lifts his shades. The sequence that follwos shows Judy jumping around and darting three of the four criminals, while Nick casually trips the last one from behind a corner.
Nick: Aaaand that’s a wrap.

Back at the precinct, everyone is applauding the two cops, as they stop by Clawhauser’s desk.
Clawhauser: Hey, guys. Bogo wants to see you both on his office.
Nick: What, is he going to give us a medal?
Clawhauser: I don’t know. He just said it was important and that you should be there immediately.
Nick and Judy go into Bogo’s office to find the buffalo sitting on his desk, with a somber expression on his face.
Bogo: Close the door and take a seat...
Nick and Judy are seeing a video from a security camera on an oversized tablet, showing Gary slithering away from the crime scene.
Judy (in shock): A snake!? In Zootopia!?
Nick (just as shocked): For real!?
The sequence once more changes to show a mix of 3D and 2D animation depicting an encounter between two mammals (a rabbit and a fox) and a crocodile, their clothing denotes it is ancient past. Followed by images of what seems to be a war between mammals and reptiles.
Bogo (only his voice): Mammals and reptiles have been at each other’s necks for centuries! (...) We cannot let the public know a snake has eaten a mammal! (...) This could start a war!
Mixed sequence ends, showing Nick and Judy once more on Bogo’s office.
Nick: So, looks like we are in for a secret investigation! So, what will be our cover story for going around the city? Two partners in a vacation?
Bogo (with a deadpan expression): You will be on honeymoon.
Nick and Judy stared at Bogo with vacant expressions.
Judy: Excuse me?
The scene cuts to a photography studio, where a platypus is preparing to take Judy and Nick’s picture. The fox is wearing a tuxedo and the bunny is wearing a wedding dress.
Nick: Your parents will be so surprised when they receive the postcard...
Nick was smiling as he pulled his partner close to each other, while Judy sported the fakest smile you’ve ever seen.

Nick and Judy are driving down the road, now on common car and civilian clothes.
Nick: So, where to, honey carrot?
[b]They are in the car, and Nick is still smirking, but Judy looks about done with everything.
Judy: now we gather information.
The scene changes to Finnick, in a trolley being pushed by a hyena wearing a bunny onesie.
Finnick: Well, lookey who is is...
The scenes change to various parts of the city, and shows Nick and Judy talking to various mammals. Eventually, they are in an alley in the Marshlands, and Judy trips on a root that is actually a snake’s body.
Gary the Snake: Hey!
Judy: Hey!
Gary the Snake: Hey!
Judy: Hey
Gary the Snake: Hey!
Judy: Hey
Gary the Snake:... I’m sorry, how many times we do this? I’m kind of new here...
Judy: You are under arrest!
Chase sequence, which ends with the snake escaping from the two of them but leaving behind a clue that leads them to a new location.
Unnamed Lion: Officer Hopps, my family had fought those disgusting, cold-blooded monsters for generations.
[b]The lion has his back turned to Judy and Nick, as he looks at a bunch of bones that clearly belong to reptiles, as well as articles that seem to be made form reptile leather, most of it clothing. He turned to look at the two.
Unnamed Lion: Believe me when I say we cannot be kind to them.
A sequence of Judy nearly falling into a machine while trying to get Gary.
Unnamed Lion (only voice):[/b] They will never show kindness to you.
Just as Judy is falling, a scaly tail reaches for her and coils around her body, before pulling her up. Judy looks at Gary, who is smiling kindly at her.
Judy: You... you saved my life.
Judy and Nick are walking down a street.
Judy: Nick, there is something wrong with this case. I can feel it.
Sequence showing Nick and Judy walking into a dingy old building and finding a room filled with documents and pictures.
Judy: I think there is more to this story than what we know...
Nick: You saying the snake who devoured a mongoose might not be a bad guy?
Nick and Judy then go through several scenes of danger, from nearly falling from a cliff by being chased by a bunch of masked felines. In each step, the tension music grows more and more.
Judy: I’m saying we need to get to the bottom of it.
The sequence ends with a close-up on Judy’s face as she looks up at her partner.
Judy: Like we always do.

The scene then shifts to Nick and Judy in a warehouse, with Nick carrying a bucket filled with chicken nuggets, when there is a growling coming form someone one. Reptiles of all kind start coming out of the shadows, from iguanas to Komodo dragons, from geckos to snakes, all of them hissing and growling at the two cops. Behind them, the biggest of them, a huge crocodile, looks down on the two as he growls.
The cops look up at him. And Nick offers him something from the bucket.
Nick:... Chicken nugget?
The “Oh, oh, oh” chorus of “Try Everything” plays as the screen goes black and the letters show:
