Another piece I got from my lovely wife,
Ginny the Fat Bear
A resident of my wife's setting of Sollana, three hundred years after the Dragon Knight Idelia defeated the usurper god Auna, Joan is the daughter of a human hitman and an elven diplomat. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father never told his child of his background. However, he did teach her how to use a rifle and survive in a harsh world, lessons which would help her grow to adulthood following her father's untimely demise when she was 13.
Serious, cynical, and standoffish, Joan has survived many adventures alone, or the sole survivor of an entire party wipe. As a result, she has a somewhat negative reputation among other adventurers despite her skill and expertise. This suited Joan just fine (or so she told herself), until a chance encounter with the dragon Morrigan Redburrow changed her life. She, along with the Queen's Knights, and her other partner Galatea Goldsteel, would go on to save Sollana much as Idelia once did.
While Joan has retained her somewhat gruff exterior, her relationship with Morrigan and Galatea have helped her open up and become more personable, and discard some of the more self-loathing thoughts she'd been harboring after having seen so many folk die around her. Joan is a skilled warrior, being a crack shot with a rifle and now a talented sword-fighter.
