For this last week's
Thursday_Prompt (I'm late D:). This story takes place in the same world as Ren's, just about 10-15 years before that one, far to the east. Here, they are going through an industrial revolution while Ren's society is still stuck in medieval level technology. I was actually pretty excited to use Els and Banes again. These are two characters I created nearly 14 years ago now, but really haven't given them any love in over a decade.
Also, I tried to work in some descriptions of what a klyra and a mindor were during the while thing, but I didn't want to bog it down with a single long description despite them both being original species. If you want more clarity:
Klyra: Klyra are a large taur-like species with a large long blunted muzzle. They have to long pointy ears and longer hair growing from their head. Their fur usually is some shade of white, browns, blacks, and greys with more orange and red hues also known. The colors and thickness of the fur really depend on the individual populations. The western klyra shown in this story tend to have thicker fur and lighter shaded pelts. On the back of their heads are two large horns that they use to channel mana into their body. They have a long thick pointed tail. Their middle set of limbs have something between a hand and a paw, allowing them to manipulate objects, but not with the full dexterity of a hand.
Mindor: Mindor are small, but strong species. The stand about the size of a dwarf. Their skin tends to be thick and leathery in shades of brown. Their nose is flat and cat-like, but they don't have any muzzle to speak of. They have a set of armadillo like plates that grow down their back and onto their short, wide tail. Two large triangular ears stick out from the sides of their head, surrounded by hair.
Prompt: Throughput
Length: 3033 words

A delightful way to spend an afternoon, for sure! While I prefer canoes and kayaks to speedboats, I can certainly see the appeal, especially when you have the lake all to yourselves!
Hopefully, whatever comes next doesn't cause too much chaos... but all for a good cause!
