Thank you. Iksars are minions of fear; it is the God of Fear himself who was our Creator in the first place, and it is spreading of fear that was our purpose. We're not meant to be hideous so much as... evil. But since Cazic-Thule, the Faceless, no longer controls my actions, I choose not to behave as the terrorist he would have me become - for terror, true bone-chilling fright even at the mention of our name, was the height of our legacy... one we had to continually foment further acts to maintain our reputation. We brought death, pain, suffering, even disease... but torture was Cazic's favorite... fates worse than death, experiences that wound and warp souls... Indeed, in these eyes and this smile you see the delight I had in smelling the fear drip like an oily residue from victims, greasy pheromone inside their sweat... And how sweet it smelled, how it aroused me, spurred me to turn the crank, stoke the coals, brand the flesh... ahh yesss, an Iksar is well versed in these things toward their enemies.

I doubt I'll do this again, at least not without consent. Fear-scent still affects me the same way, and I still have a sadistic side. But I do not force that upon the unwilling, and I have toned down a lot, to basically what are my body's own instruments of pain and pleasure

Much of what an Iksar is, and who Cazic-Thule is, is in that EverQuest Timeline document I posted. I roleplay a live interpretation of how I believe life would be motivated in that environment, given that God's agenda and the Iksarian zealotry.

It is a 3D modeling render.  brelo is the artist, unfortunately, not around to make us more lizard animations or renders anymore. I'm afraid (not an apology - an indulgence as far as Iksars are concerned) I'll be growing stronger next chance I get - it seems most fearsome creatures I see depicted (demons, eg) are shown with impossibly huge muscles, bigger than mine - so I gotta play catch up!

It is interesting what the elements of fear are in various cultures. I actually find nothing fearsome in muscularity. Exposed bones, bleeding, diseased flesh - zombielike creatures, yes that's more frightening.

For an Iksar however, we were instruments of war. Everybody remembers the old formula for wiping out a civilization - war, pestilence, famine, death. War's almost always about overpowering an enemy.

But my 3D should stay the same - at least until I get someone on board to do something with my Maya database.

It was a couple years of RP'ing him over FurryMUCK for the attitude and swagger, as well his development as a carefully-described creature started there as well - and as far as I recall went into inspiring the original BGN image of him, which went forward to a Todex reference image (Todex and BGN still communicate afaik; Todex and me are quits, apparently).

From those days I believe there are about 4 years of commissioning images from a character I first played in EverQuest (the original MMO for him) back in Christmas 2001.
