As the Underground Kingdom became less homogeneous, a distinct population of Half-Noxfolk emerged. Due to the randomness of genetics, there was never one unifying look or set of traits to typify them, which only sped up the changes to architecture of Hearth-Under-Stone to account for the non-Noxfolk. Ixchel, for example, does not possess the UV-sensitive, low-light adapted eyes of the Noxfolk, but does retain the thermal changes to skin and blood, making staying within the cooled city a challenge if proper lighting isn't present. Other minor changes such as hair color, eye color, and final adult height have also been noted through out the growing population.
