Impressive swing Aquarius using hand to hand. Second panel was my favorite. Such a good axe kick. Happy that Whisper gets mentioned here.

Love to see her do more hand to hand combat in future. It's always great fallback when you are in situations that don't require powers or you can't use them at a given time.

It's going to come up and they need to at least be comfortable with the idea so they don't freeze when it inevitably happens.

I think this is one fight that went the longest since at the moment the two combatants were taking it seriously.

Granted with Leo moving on I’m sure whoever his next opponent is will have to take it very seriously.

To be fair, Gemini and and Scorpio was serious once the opening "feminine wiles" gambit didn't pay off. Scorpio was just outclassed and Gemini had no interest in playing instructor like Leo fit into. As we see, it's implied that Leo never actually launched an attack, he just stayed on the defense as a sparring partner until he outlasted in her stamina.

That’s true, when Scorpio realized the Taurus trick wasn’t gonna work she took it seriously.

They better. Leo does not have much mercy for a lot of the characters. Aquarius is a bit different but he already respects her.

Very unexpected outcome here! I did not expect June to become exhausted (although it makes sense if she's accustomed to relying on her spirit parents for strength) or for her to tease Leo in this way.

June, just go for it and ask him out!

The rules were not to use any powers so she was using normal stamina versus cyborg stamina which may be nuclear powered for all we know.

But wouldn't that mean Leo has an unfair advantage? Wouldn't his cyborg enhancements count as a superhero power?

It's way unfair but no real way to turn them off. The rules were to not use any super powers if possible. Aries, Taurus and Pisces at least can't really turn off their powers. Pisces will still be quite strong, super-level endurance and toughness, regeneration, etc.

I forgot that's Aquarius' natural fur color for a second. I was like, who the heck is that?! ;p

We see her so often in her superhero identity it's easy to forget that white and grey isn't her natural coloration.

Yes! Since this is a private thing, they can let their guard down with masks and clothes and Aquarius with her actual color. It has been a while since we saw her like this.

That, and the "no powers" clause of the contest means changing her appearance from normal would be rather redundant.

Totally unfair but it is an exercise and he can't really turn them off. He did a good job with keeping it safe. Not too much he could do about it.

Just shows how much of a good sport he is.

It is really hard to tell what I like the most about this fight sequence:
1 - the fact that we see Leo smiling (which is rare)
2 - that we see Leo both as a gentleman and a team leader, since he takes the whole thing seriously for giving Acqua a good workout but at the same time he is careful not to be too rough
3 - or the fact that we see him in complete embarrassment when Acqua tease him!

The last one is so refreshingly sweet, I mean a toughened war veteran (both in normal and super way) that gets uncomfortable in a dating scenario; it really add a sensitive side to LEo's personality! Sweet and funny too!
