Just to be clear, I do not wish harm upon anyone; All I am saying is that I am willing to bet money on sh*t hitting the fan in France. It's like a car crash, you can't look away and you want all of the details.

France decided that they were going to do some sort of drag queen thing with children involved to mock The Last Supper on live TV. Obviously they got ridiculed and in response, gave a half-assed apology that basically amounted to "I'm sorry you were offended." In other words, they weren't sorry. The Olympics tried to sweep it under the rug and copyright strike every video of this thing so that people wouldn't see it for themselves, even though many did. Even though you probably won't be able to see the video of it for yourself, you will definitely find people talking about it.
It didn't hit the fan, but apparently there was a fair amount of it in the Seine. Does that count?
It's also interesting that they didn't choose to show Muhammad frolicking with 72 drag queens. Isn't there a name for people who only pick on the folks they know won't hurt them back? Or several names?

It could count, but I believe that there may be more coming, I wouldn't worry about them getting away with it though; Psalm 37:1-2 says: "Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb."
I believe the words you may be searching for are "Bully" and "Persecutor".

Because the Olympics is apparently extremely vigilant about protecting its broadcast rights. They make a huge amount of money by selling broadcast rights to each country, and those exclusive rights apply whether or not they have their own YouTube channel. They have a legal right to enforce those rights (subject to any fair use provisions). They weren't just targeting the opening ceremony.
Please note also that you did not actually address my correction with your rebuttal. They did not mock Christianity, they simply celebrated a different culture to that with which you were familiar.

How's this for a rebuttal? https://x.com/CatholicArena/status/.....077729/photo/1
That, unlike your last post, is an actual attempt at a rebuttal, so thank you. But it still misses the bigger picture:

Evidently there's a lot of common symbolism and religious heritage which likely resulted in people (including some of the cast) getting the wrong impression, but in full context it's clear that the Olympics themselves weren't aiming to have a go at Christians.
The best you could argue based on your evidence is that Barbara Butch *might* have been taking a cheeky swipe at Christianity, and frankly, LGBT+ people taking some of the power back from a religion that has (depending on the denomination) persecuted them for centuries? I can get on board with that.

I apologize for the delay, I wasn't able to get back to you yesterday for personal reasons. That being said, if we are to assume that the claim that the performance was referencing the painting The Feast of The Gods is indeed true, that would mean that a decision was made to reference a painting that not only bares resemblance to The Last Supper but is also statistically obscure compared to it. I don't know about you, but to me, that sounds like a really risky idea especially considering that this caused boycotts of the Olympics to occur, and that means less revenue for them. So they are either lying or they're stupid.

I did not take data after June 30th into account because that data would be biased.

I mean, the claims that they were referencing The Feast of the Gods *are* true. I definitely don't remember this blue dude (Dionysus) being part of The Last Supper: https://x.com/Olympics/status/1816929100532945380
Did the Olympics possibly make a blunder by accidentally wandering too close to Christian symbolism? Maybe, but I'd argue that they've got the smallest share of the blame for that error. Consider for a moment that many of the same people screaming about this feast are the same ones labelling the entire Opening Ceremony as "satanic" because they weren't culturally literate enough to recognise the beheaded Marie Antoinette, a key figure in French history. I can't really take their objections seriously when it's clear they know nothing of world history.
It also doesn't help that Christianity spent a lot of its formative years co-opting the iconography and significant festivals of other, older religions. The articles I linked above go into some of it in relation to Dionysus, but the religion as a whole is riddled with pagan symbolism. The fact that people get confused as to which came first is only a testament to how pervasive Christianity has become.
And I think some blame also has to go to Christians with a persecution complex. The French did not set out to offend Christianity; I'd wager they didn't even give the religion a first thought, let alone a second one. They were too busy. It wasn't about Christians, it was about France and the Olympics, but always eager to be the centre of attention and play the victim, a certain type of Christian with main-character syndrome *really* wanted to make it about them. And because those Christians are in bed with the reactionary right-wing American press, it's pretty easy for them to make themselves heard.
So, to summarise, it wasn't that they were lying or stupid. It just wasn't about your religion.

Sorry for the delay, you're probably already familiar with what happened. I was actually writing this response as the hack happened so when I started writing it, everything was fine, but when I tried to post the comment everything went SNAFU. Thank God I thought to myself "I should copy this in a .txt file just in case something goes wrong, I didn't want to rewrite all of my points. Anyway, with that being said...
1. Just to clarify, I wasn't saying that the people reporting what Thomas Jolly, the director, said were lying; I was saying that Thomas was the one who could be lying, in an attempt to gaslight people, making the claim that he was referencing The Feast of The Gods.
2. There is no blue dude in The Feast of The Gods either, despite what your source says. I trust my own eyes more than other people, regardless of whether or not they share my opinions.
3. Do you not think that a beheaded Marie Antoinette in an Olympics celebration would be disturbing? Yes, it is historically accurate that she was beheaded, but why would you want to reference one of the darkest times in French history in an Olympics ceremony?
4. The only thing that links Christianity with Greek Mythology is that both Jesus and Dionysus were conceived by a god and were born of a virgin mortal woman. Other than that, there are little to no similarities according to your source's own source. https://pure.rug.nl/ws/portalfiles/.....003045059.pdf. We never believed in reincarnation and we do not get to Heaven through good living. We get to Heaven by understanding that we are sinners, we cannot save ourselves, and accepting that Jesus Christ paid the price of our sins. John 14:6 says "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
5. Your argument is based off of what people say, not what they have done. Actions speak louder than words. This is why I gave you data and the screenshot of the post that Butch made, they are indisputable. I was able to dispute the claims made by your own sources using their own source, which is quite ironic.
6. Again, even if it were not about Christianity, how people would react to it didn't seem to cross their minds either, that seems like a distinct lack of thought or good judgement, which is the very definition of stupidity. https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/stupidity#:~:text=%2Fstu%CB%90%CB%88p%C9%AAd%C9%99ti%2F,errors%20and%20stupidities%20of%20youth
7. If they didn't do this to mock Christians, I find it hard to believe that not one person, would look at this performance prior to the ceremony and say "Hey this looks like The Last Supper, this could offend Christians." I mean after all, they did say that they did not mean to offend anyone so surely if one person brought up that fact, they likely wouldn't have done it.

It wasn't my intention to imply that we should watch and hope that something bad happens, granted I did have some of those feelings at the time; What I was trying to imply was that we shouldn't feel fearful or discouraged that these people are getting away with stuff like this, because I believe that God will not let evil prevail, and eventually they will be punished for it. I made it in a humorous way because I saw the potential to make a parody of the Michael Jackson eating popcorn meme, and whenever an opportunity comes along to recreate a meme in SFM, I will take it.
Basically, what I am trying to say is that I didn't mean it as "Wait for it, something exciting is about to happen!", granted it would probably get a lot of attention because we as humans are attracted to drama. I meant it as "Don't be afraid, they aren't going to get away with it, just wait for it."
So, no, I'm not dwelling on it, because I know it will be taken care of, if it hasn't already.
