Areku and Eren are having their personal time in the temple of two jackals to pray to and praise their gods. Areku is singing and chanting as Eren is more in deep thoughts and listens to his son's voice. Their jobs as royals usually keep them busy, but once in a while they try to look for time together to get into the temple and fulfill their religious duties.

I love these two as characters, but something occured to me which was a bit of a lovely thought. It must be a remarkable feeling for Eren, as a father, to be with his own son in the act of worshipping their gods. The fact that they make time to do this with one another is a lovely bit of subtle storytelling about their faith and their familial bond.
I wonder if there are moments where Eren, as a father, feels wonder at the son he has brought into the world.
...y'now, when Areku isn't cavorting around like a jackass and starting fights with visiting dignitaries that he wants to fuck. :P

Eren mostly focused on being a father and learning to become a good pharaoh while he was married to Isanet until that accident took her away from him. Since then he had to lead the nation, but finds strength in raising his two sons. Especially as most of his family was wiped out, Eren wanted to preserve what he had left.
So he taught Areku and Jibade their culture and values... had debates with them about the gods and what they stand for. And while Eren is indeed proud of Areku and how he has grown up, Eren is also sad about Areku not founding a family as he should..
