I had a dream last week that I turned Gale from Baldur's Gate 3 into a purple dragon. Of course, he looked nothing like this. However, I wanted to bring the idea to life still with something that would fit in the universe. After consulting 
DehakaXBrightwing, an amethyst dragon was decided upon to be the best pick for Gale if he WAS a dragon. DehakaXBrightwing also helped me along the way and answered all questions I had.
So I suppose I present the Wizard of Waterdeep... if he was irreversibly true polymorphed into a dragon. Also, the chest mark stays because if you know, you know... :]
