(If you like this picture you can commission me here http://vaporeonlugiakrabby.homestea.....mmissions.html .)
The moment I saw Deoxys' badly rendered, "Normal" form with the one hand and the two tentacles I knew instantly it was the one. I had ideas of pitting my Mewthree, Mewblade against an alien-like opponent. Deoxys instantly lived up to every expectation I wanted and aspired to, Nintendo eventually releasing more bodies of it (Normal/Attack/Defense/Speed) to further justify that I was going to have an opponent that was not only versatile but could take Mewblade's beats. The movie sealed it (though I had the impression that Deoxys would already do what I was to ask of it). I swear that at times, Nintendo and I are in sync. I'm concepting attacks and ideas, and they are too, and then eventually release something I've had in mind. Shadow Lugia, Deoxys, Deoxys vs Mewtwo (manga specific), all noted down somewhere and then a little later they make it. I think they're spying on me!
I've had this fight planned for years, and 63 pages into the hard copy for "Where I Stand" I really can't believe I haven't drawn such an image sooner. Now if you don't like the image don't read the novel. There is some 30 pages of the pair doing stuff like this. Deoxys was the ultimate beat stick, same as Mewblade, both having great attack capacity and almost miraculous recovers. Their several hour fight involves blood, gore, stabbing, dismembering, G-force crush moves and all kinds of fun stuff. Deoxys and Mewblade often resort to physical stabs and jabs as part of their combat. The one thing false in this picture is that Mewblade carries her angel-like Steel Wings for a few hours, and neither ever rip out their opponent's most precious organ (Deoxys' gem, Mewblade's brain. Instant KO otherwise but neither pull it off).
The image was straight forward as most space scenes are for me. The position was the most challenging, having them all pressed against each other like some strange genderless sex display, along with the bloody embracing. Always gives me a laugh to see the pair next to each other, since both are so androgynous. Otherwise played with the blood and the spray. Adjusted the colors so they were less saturated in order to make the blood more obvious and Deoxys less of a color attention hog. There is something almost romantic and depraved about this picture that appeals to me. Sometimes macabre work is nice for a change.

I don't know how it is you keep amazing me as you do.
My thought process earlier today:
"I hope I wasn't going overboard in what I asked for in that commission idea, I mean Vap hasn't really posted much gore stuff and it might be outside of her comfort zo-" *click* "AWWWWW YEEEEAAAAHHHH"
Odd that you and I are in an odd sort of sync in that just as you talk about you and Nintendo being in sync!
