I've known InuHoshi-to-DarkPen since her days as a My Little Pony artist. I love her cartoonish yet distinctive style, especially when she's drawing (winged) characters with lots of fluff and over-exaggerated expressions. Given this and her more than reasonable pricing, I decided that my next idea involving my non-pony OC should be realized by her.

It's funny that all of my previous commissions depict a happy/contended Dash in her room, wearing her comfortable Ferrari-themed pajamas. This is the first time where teenage Dash - a deeragon in appearance but a human in mind - looks rather unhappy about everyday objects. But why would she be happy for socks and shoes? Her choices are:
- A) forcing her paws into little kids' shoes, looking ridiculous - or, worse, bursting them instantly - and exposing herself,
- B) using regular shoes with padding - hoping she won't lose them while walking, or
- C) wearing large shoes, bending their toes and... well, exposing herself.

No wonder she looks super disgusted! :D But sorry, young lady, walking barefoot isn't an option - no matter how natural and preferable it is for you - if you want to get outside and pretend to be human. Or at least I hope she wants to get outside... ^^;

Now you get the idea why I chose InuHoshi for creating this particular picture. I wanted Dash to react to her "predicament" in the most cartoonish/childish way possible. Given InuHoshi's track record, especially the image that sparked my idea in the first place, she was the only logical choice. And boy, did she deliver spectacularly! The fact that she listened to my feedback every single time - even accepting one of my title suggestions - is just the icing on the cake. It took how long it took; all that matters is that every time I look at the final image, I can say "Yeah, that's typical Dash."

Now I just have to come up with a new idea for Inuhoshi where Dash needs to be just as if not more expressive - or silly.
