I like this and I like the idea, but I see what you mean about the bed.
From what I can tell it's a combination of it looking as if the edge of the bed is a totally flat 90-degree angle and the way the bed is positioned in relation to the way Kammy is sitting. Also, the way the photo is cropped doesn't help, as the lack of a top of the headboard means our eyes have less context for the angle.
Basically, if the angle for the wall/bed wasn't so steep, I feel as if it would work a lot better. Instead of the line indicating the wall being around 45-degrees, it would be much easier to work with and more pleasing to the eye it it was lowered to around 20-degrees, if that makes any sense.
