It's so quiet that Logan can hear the faint sizzle of his cigarette as he draws on it.
It's possibly the first quiet morning in weeks, he realizes.
The frenzy of D-Day and the constant rush forward had lasted until his unit got pulled back to allow for some rest, with fresher units taking the lead.
And even though it's just a maintenance unit, the front was never far, and the sounds of war with them.

As if his thoughts had been heard by an unseen force, Logan's ears twitch as he hears the distant drone of a flight of planes.
He looks up, into the calm skies lit by a warm, friendly glow by the sun. Pausing for a moment to appreciate the sight, and then scanning for the dots in the sky.
He still cannot see them, but he hears the engine's buzz rise and then lower as the planes pass by on their way to the front.
The fighting is never far.
And it always will be, until they reach Berlin.

Better enjoy the quiet dawn, as long as it lasts.
Probably for not much longer than the cigarette will.

Very nice piece of my lad Logan, done by  CEREUS ! Incredibly good work by him in working with the refs of the vehicle, and the background really sets the mood. Super happy with it!
