Ah, a trip down memory lane...

So, back in the day when I first started to get into RPing, one of my early starts was in a free form RP. It was basically "Anime School for everything and everyone"

It...was a lot. And I always felt like a fish out of water - pun intended. And the character I made for it is this guy. I couldn't tel you his name, but basically, he's a koi fish samurai.

Looking back, he's not at all like the characters I usually play. I tried to make him a super serious type of character since everyone else was so over the top. So I thought making a straight-man would be fun.

...It wasn't.

I mean, I liked the idea of an anthro fish guy samurai, I just didn't have fun writing him. I also seriously restrained myself in how I RPed him. Everyone was doing super cool and fantastical stuff, but I was grounding myself. It ultimately just wasn't a good fit and I kneecapped my own fun cause I was afraid of being a spotlight hog.

I don't exactly look back on this character with fondness, but I do always think about what I'd do if I had a second chance. So I thought i'd satisfy my inner child (or, inner teen, I suppose) and draw this character. I doubt this is how my younger self imagined him, and i could definitely hunt down the old forum and try to draw something based on how I wrote it those many moons ago. But that seems like too much work....
