HellaCoorinna wanted a commission of their Thylacine , and with a FN-L1A1 for entertainment value. Still weird doing the cybernetics portion.

I once owned a Lithgow built FN L1A1 rifle that was actually used in VietNam. I LOVED that rifle, BUT it had a Century built receiver on it and that seriously fucked it up. Basically turning it into a single shot rifle. Theres three FN rifle specialty shops in the country, one in Portland Oregon, One in Miami, and the other near Tempe. Since I was in Tucson for Estrella Wars at the time, I made an appointment for the Tempe builder to look at it. He had the rifle 3 days trying to fix it to actually work. He said that the Century Receiver was utterly FUBAR'd and it needed an Imbel receiver. And an Imbel receiver was roughly around $500 at the time, plus installation would be another $300. On a then $600 rifle.
I sadly took home my largely useless L1A1. And sold it at a local gun show the week after Sandyhook for $700. I really Loved that rifle, but fixing it was too expensive. I still have my Austrian STG58 and thankfully it has an Imbel receiver on it, I think I paid $500 at the time. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/1247982/

I have a Centurion 58 with an aftermarket muzzle brake similar to the original Stg 58 and the proper bipod. Windage setting is maxxed out and can't be zeroed out for "iron sights". So added a STANAG mount with a repro scope by Leapers. Now it shoot MOA groups. It has the Imbel receiver.
I've seen competition front sight block/gas blocks that are set up that way. Used to shoot High Power and Small bore competitions years ago. I just tend to do fun builds these days. Dedicated .22lr uppers for AR's Affordable to shoot and can use at the local indoor range with no issues. Stripped flat top blem upper receiver $29, Dedicated barrel $120 on sale. Free float handguard and barrel nut $20, feed ramp collar for an existing chamber adapter rimfire conversion unit $40. Running on a blem stripped lower receiver from Ruger - employee purchase from when I worked security for them 6 years ago - $55 . Current project dedicated 4.5 inch barrel .22lr pistol upper build - the MKIII of my Star Wars smuggler Blaster project. Another low cost blem upper, barrel on sale for $60, barrel nut for $7. Other parts I had on hand.
My 7.62x51mm Nato thumper https://sta.sh/01793il3buau Palmetto PA 10 with 16.25 inch barrel, Rear sight by Rock River and well I found it takes the USMC OKC 3 Bayonet quite nicely. Completed lower was on sale a while back for $170 - free ship and a local dealer does $20 transfers. Complete upper minus sight was on sale for $360. Runs well and shoots assorted Ball ammo well. Handles hunting .308 ammo well too.
