Back to the Future was always a fun series of movies that I remember from childhood. It was one of the things to spark my love of time travel type stories. The movies are full of fun and thrill and likely invented a lot of tropes we see used a lot today. It also had that aspect of the dynamic between the crazy smart old man and the teenager, so there is definitely inspiration there.
