Cottonwood trees have the most obnoxious seeds of any plant on the planet. They're like dandilion seeds with infinitely more padding, and yes, they always find their way into parked cars en masse like this. Heaven forbid if your next-door neighbor is dense enough to plant one in their yard.

Cottonwoods... obnoxious? I disagree. Introduce cottonwood seeds to flame, sit back, and enjoy the pyrotechnics.
Especially the stuff that's built up in the gutters along the curb. If there's enough you can set fire to the streets of the whole town, causing it to smell roughly like a certain illegal substance. It's actually pretty wonderful.
