I haven't done that digital painting thing in a while, so I decided to get back into it and I whipped up this bit here. One thing that bothers me and I tried to get rid of it trust me is the black outline. I could only have it be that or a white halo around; some conflict with the shadow layer and the main layer, beh. Anyhow, expect more.

But as for actually commenting, it looks good; liking the textures.
As for getting rid of the outlines: I don't ink any of my drawings. I usually work on one layer, sometimes separating the background from the figures. I sketch in a light color / gray; lighten it up; sketch over it. I repeat that multiple times until I get the right lines. I also flip the canvas horizontal periodically to check perspective / bad proportions (try it, it works crazy). Once I get a finished sketch, that looks like a light rough inking with all the lines I need, I then draw into that, not using fill, not using any tools, just the good old basic brush with some pressure sensitivity. Unless I make a layering mistake or am lazy, I don't get any lines / white edges.
Hope that helps.

I like it, this picture actually LOOKS like a hyena should, unlike a lot of hyena pictures I see often, that tend to look like bears or domestic dogs <_<
only thing I could see that could be looked into for future pictures, would be that his torso seems a bit long. You have the hips in a nice placement, and I think the crotch area should start around that that point too. I hope you know what I mean. D:
Otherwise I really really like this! Enough to give it a +fav actually x3

I'm glad I could help! Personally I don't really think there's a way to do art "right" or "wrong", it all depends on one's personal preference. If I notice something that looks a bit off compared to the rest of the piece I'll bring it up, but it's always good to make sure you point out things you like in particular regarding the same piece. Because it's obvious you've worked hard on this, and it does look rather bad-ass. :>
