It was the urban legend of the town. You heard about the haunted asylum that sat at the edge of the city, a remnant of an era and practice long gone. Everyone knew about the "loons" that were locked up, and that it was a place that the town used to send troublemakers to, never to be seen again. However, once the place was shut down, it became a poplar spot for urban explorers to go and see and take photos. Though everyone always said the same thing, the place was clearly haunted. Sounds of spirits cackling, whaling, crying, or pleading. They swore they could see sparks of electricity fly from the room where electro shock therapy was conducted, and they also swore they could see patients in the isolation ward in their straitjackets while in their padded cell. You didn't believe in the stories. You just wanted to see the place on your own, and finally get to see the halls of the old place.
The place was stunning, and you were having a great time taking in the morbid history. Then your curiosity got the better of you. You saw the signs for the isolation ward, and you wanted to see if the padded cells were still intact. Hell, you had an idea to try to find a straitjacket to place in an empty cell; a great composition idea for a photo. Slowly, you opened the door to the ward as your light shined in. You could make out several rooms with large steel doors. Glancing inside one of the rooms, you finally could confirm these were indeed padded cells. With your tail swishing with excitement, you started to dig around the nearby nurse station, trying to find a straitjacket. That is when it happened. The temperature in the area dropped drastically, and you could see your breath as you nervously exhaled. Absentmindedly, you slip on the straitjacket like a normal jacket in hopes the canvas garment would keep you warm. Slowly, you exit the nurse station, buckles jingling with each step you take, and you hear what sounds like someone in a closed off padded cell next to you. You fight off the nerves as you slowly open the cell, and that is when he appeared.
The arctic fox slowly floated out of the cell. He wore a tattered straitjacket with the arm sleeves ripped open, exposing his big, fluffy hand paws. His eyes were glossed over, and a muzzle was locked over his snout. He doesn't scream dangerous, and he seems almost friendly. The spirit looks you over as his paw raises up in the air. With a warm voice, he says, "Oh, hi there. You must be a new patient. If you want, I can show you around. I haven't had a friend to talk to in a long time, and I want to ensure you feel comfortable in your new home." He clearly thinks he's still a patient at the facility, and your mistake on putting on the straitjacket easily targeted you as a new patient. You can't determine any malice or vengeance with the fox, and he does indeed seem like a friendly fellow. Who knows, this fox might know some areas of the asylum that the other urban explores have yet to see. So what will you do? Do you take his paw, or will you turn and run?
