I have a true name, but they never call me by it.
They replace me with a figment of their imagination.
They demean me with what they think is a humorous name.
Sometimes I am singular, sometimes I am many.
But no matter when, I always feel alone.
Who am I?
"Pale Blue Dot" is a collection of six short stories that introduce the five main characters of "I," a long dystopian sci-fi novel featuring anthropomorphic characters. Before the main series begins, these spin-offs will establish the world and prequels will introduce the characters, leading up to the serialization.
Transparent
Beneath the dome, above the red planet, between the stars.
The muntjac, tiny and inconspicuous even among other deer, has a taste that is horrifying for a herbivore.
Trapped beneath a transparent dome that reflects a false sky, will he ever get a chance to see the real stars?
Fly
Soaring through the storm, glimpsing the world beyond the mist.
A unique dragon, Fearless, achieving feats beyond the reach of ordinary beings. Creating greatness, discovering a new world.
How will he choose his third name?
Promise
Myth, faith, story, truth, secret—one day we will witness promises fulfilled.
A sky covered by drones, streets crushed by armored vehicles. Fires that never die, smoke that never dissipates. The cheetah Dal struggles to survive in a godforsaken land, seeking out ancient allies to fulfill a promise forgotten in the tides of history.
Can he find the promised land of freedom?

In the end, we are all but vibration.
The world looks very different to the gray wolf Jack. Today, he is hosting a herbivore scholar from Ares, discussing a collaborative project critical to his doctoral thesis. As he grapples with past memories and the nuances of their interaction, he is approached by a strange mutt. Can he graduate successfully?

In the void, there is a speck of dust.
A mtt named Luther, driven by fate and deep undercurrents, witnesses that speck in the void. What can he understand from it?
