Continuing with the then and now series for the week. Behold the THEN! Tarvis, court sorcerer to Emperor Collus the first. Master enchanter who traveled to the empire from far in the south seeking his fortune. He had never expected to end up in the royal court, and often complained just outside the emperor’s ear about the fact he couldn’t get clothes made properly in the northlands. His services were valued enough that the emperor sent another trusted retainer on the long, dangerous journey so that he could surprise Tarvis with the gift of new clothes he could wear at court.

This is Tarvis in his full silk outfit, one of a whole wardrobe, that was gifted him by the emperor to wear at court. Or rather, the best I could do back then.
