Fun birthday piece I made for kygendrake on the bird site.
He's not active right now, but he's still made some incredible stuff over the years, and he may return to making art sometime.
Even if he didn't see this for his birthday, I hope that whatever day he does see it is made just a little better.
That's all I can ask for, honestly
On another note, this is another shot at proper rendering techniques. I think this turned out alright, and the only thing I probably should've touched on more was making sure the pie tin came off better as metallic. I used some primitive blender objects for reference, and tried drawing some of the extra stuff like bounce-light and sub-surface scattering. Other than that, I'm glad to be figuring out stuff like lighting philosophy and color theory better.
Now I just gotta get better at background layouts and texturing, but this is alright for now I'd say.
