After seeing the recent news about the sad loss of Heather Riesen/Auryanne, I remembered that I got a sketchbook commission from her years ago. Today I got it scanned and here it is, an art piece from the long-lost days of the 1998 Albany Anthrocon. I apologize for the quality, but it was the best I could do.
It's art of the fursuits she and Lex Nakashima wore at that year's Confurence, which was the first one I ever got to see. Not that I remember much of it, due to a 'brilliant' plan to drive cross-country nonstop in 48 hours or so to get the con. But the fursuits? Those I remember. They were gorgeous.
After it was done for me I commented on the look Miss Wolf was giving her caribou boyfriend, and Heather quickly wrote in the 'What's for dinner' line. She was a fine lady and a fine artist and I wish I'd remembered this picture before now.
