The legs except for the first pair come from between the abdomen and the thorax, basically. That short segment would be bigger, and the abdomen would probably be a little smaller.

I think she looks cool, though. I mean, people who nitpick insect anatomy on Furaffinity are essentially stupid fucks.

No this helps I want my mantisona to be both neat looking and actually inspired by mantises and not from vague recollections of what mantises might have looked like that one time I saw it back in 3rd grade.
Actually knowing what they look like and being able to draw them properly are still two totally different things also but hey I would like to at least try
