Here's a stunning vegetarian treat that will melt in your mouth from the kitchens of
Xommon
Yay! :D I made favourite food: mozerella sticks! They were pretty good, too! :meow:
These weren't that hard to make; it was just really, really messy. I took cut-up pieces of mozerella, rolled them in cornstarch and flour, then I had to hand-dip them into a beated egg, (which was really messy) then I rolled them in Italian breadcrumbs, then I just deep fried them! You'd be surprised how easy it is!
Recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
Kraft: Mozerella Cheese 8oz (any mozerella cheese would work, like string cheese)
75mL or 1/3 cup All-Purpose Flour
30mL or 1oz Cornstarch
1 Large Egg
30mL or 1oz Water
175mL or 3/4 cup Italian Breadcrumbs
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Salt (optional)
MATERIALS:
3 Bowls (ones that can hold at least 150mL or 1 Cup of water)
COOKING:
1 - Create 3 dipping stations with the bowls; one with all-purpose flour and cornstarch mixed together, one with a beaten egg and water mixed together, and one with Italian breadcrumbs and garlic salt mixed together.
2 - Cut mozerella cheese into many, congruent sticks. (The Kraft: Mozerella Cheese should make about 16 small sticks)
3 - Completely cover one cheese stick in the flour/cornstartch station.
4 - Completely submerge the same cheese stick in egg/water station. The yellow of the egg should be covering the white flour and the cheese completely.
5 - Completely cover the same cheese stick in the breadcrumb/garlic powder station. Try to cover the whole stick, but it's not a huge deal if you don't. The cheese would just ooze out. It's unsightly, but it tastes just fine. xD
6 - Heat some oil to 150°C or 300°F or MEDIUM heat. Any oil should work, but I use and reccomend vegetable oil. I've seen it done with peanut oil. The oil should be deep enough to completely submerge one of your cheese sticks and allow it some room to float to the top of your pan once it's done cooking.
7 - CAREFULLY drop the mozerella sticks into the hot oil for about 2 to 3 minutes or until brown. Sticks should float to the top of the oil. You should only cook one or two sticks at a time. DO NOT OVERCOOK!
8 - Cool for a while.
9 - Enjoy! :D
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
SPECIAL DIETS - This dish is vegetarian, as it contains no meat, fish, or poultry; however, this dish is NOT vegan, as it contains dairy.
ALLERGIES - This dish contains eggs, wheat, and milk.
COOKING SAFETY - Be careful around hot oil. Hot oil can pop at any time, so never put your face directly over the pot of hot oil. Sometimes when the mozerella sticks go into the oil, the oil pops up. Do not leave cooking equiptment, such as spoons, in the hot oil. Once you are done using the hot oil, leave on a cool burner overnight. Do not dispose of hot oil immediately after use.

The smoked mozzarella is... well... smoked! It's usually got a darker skin on it, and is generally very yummy. If you have a Trader Joe's near you, I know they used to sell braids of it. I imagine most any high end or specialty type grocery stores would be a good place to look if curious. :3
