Chapter 6 of Misbegotten Kittens is a compilation of short stories, mostly expanding on the backstory of characters from previous chapters.
Some readers very kindly pointed out that the ending of chapter 3 seemed a bit rushed - I tend to do that, when I believe there is nothing interesting left to say in a story.
To fix that, I decided to delve deeper into how sex change procedures work in Esperanza and how it went for Rora.
You may now commence my cancelling.

Yay new pages! Yay expanded backstory! Yay awesome supportive sci-fi world!
Makes sense they would need to revert things to baseline to then make the necessary adjustments in a stable fashion, nice details.
Question though, could Rayco do it all in a flash like he was able to for Joy Masagin? Or was that a more unique case since Joy had an existing genetic issue? Or would Rayco doing it be 'overkill' in regards to the whole process?

I understand what you're going for here, but... this now makes it seems like there's NO options for treatment UNTIL adulthood. Making a trans youth who could be going through extreme gender dysphoria wait until adulthood to be able to do anything to fix their body just feels so antithetical to the spectrum of medical advancements and social understanding present in Esperanza.
I would far more expect the doctor to recommend a de-tox from the hormone blockers that Rora was currently taking, and then refer her to a Esperanza sex specialist for evaluation and care to find her the right treatment for her, whether that be better medicine, or whatever other medical wonders Esperanza has available. The options for the genome re-write can still be kept until adulthood, but there needs to be treatment options for before that's available.

Personally I'm more looking forward to Esperanzas treatment of synthetic organisms, I already feel this city to be better run for organics than our current mismatched arrangement of corporatism and demagoguery. Given the high int criminally low wisdom android boy exists I'd be very interested in seeing how Esperanzas legal framework deals with entities like androids but more specifically Artificial Intelligence of general or higher level. Be very interested in seeing that! :3
Huh. Didn’t know this about Rora. Went back to that chapter, but couldn’t find anything about this, unless I missed something. Curious as to why the Doc won’t let a certain agent handle the procedure since he was successful last time, lol. Course if she did the practice wouldn’t have made improvements. Can’t let him have all the fun after all, lol.
The last two panels feel tonally odd to me. Maybe it's normal in the setting, but the term "mutate" kinda sounds inherently negative/derogatory, even if it might be medically accurate here. And then calling the thing she's clearly embarrassed about asking a "creepy kink" seems a bit rude and judgmental.
I don't know, it just seems after that pause panel, it's hard to tell for me if the doctor's being professionally judgmental or trying to lighten the mood.
