Hey it's a pirate story, it must be full of stereotypes. I got two characters who have "Black" in their names too, and BOTH were captains (until the first one died and second onelost his ship). To put it on the top of mockery, one even resembled Black Beard ;) but was named Black Bear. The other one is Dwight Blackspell.
So hey, we got eyepatches, peg legs, hook hands and lots of gunpowder, like somebody but say he thinks the name Black is bad for a villain who came up from your mind.

And even so, Emanuel Wynne would be no good name for a villain like Black. I would think of a male supermodel first and foremost rather than of a bad ass pirate ;)

I recall that in the original Pirates! game you could use a spyglass to see the enemy ship's flags... And that the pirate flags were all made to look authentic. I think I would still recognize some of them.

I keep forgetting there are so many of them. I was referring to Pirates! (1987) and Pirates! Gold edition.

That's strange, in the german version of that game one couldn't see the flags...

Well, according to Wikipedia the very first game was widely ported to many different platforms which might've been different from each other. I'm not sure if the Gold edition on PC has the unique flags.
