PART 1 - BEFORE
A Filipino town of Batan (in one of few islands north of Luzon) went through its humble routine as usual, but its lighthouse was such a tourist attraction, that even foreign visitors came by it to enjoy the scenery around it, let alone the nearby breathtaking coast.

One night however, while local and foreign tourists kept flocking into the lighthouse, they failed to notice a Hong Kong catamaran ferry having crashed into a hill, at least distant from the lighthouse but still visible in plain sight, albeit affected by nighttime. At the same time, a town government had recently received complaints from locals, who had been worried over the persistent rumor about the unknown monsters coming to infect them. Skeptical at best, the town reluctantly accepted the town wide evacuation, and sent armed guards around the island, including the iconic lighthouse, so as to ensure safety.

Nancy Grace and Eduardo Soro, the cousins of Timothy and Rosemary Soro, originally came to Batan to fetch their cousins, as they had learned about the Hong Kong ferry's emergency request to take a disembark at the. local seaport
