Cervina won a raffle for a cruise through the Caribbean at a dinner party with some coworkers. She looked forward to the much needed vacation and was well packed for it. She encountered an on looking fellow wearing a beak like mask and thought the rest of the attire looked out of date. After putting away he luggage in her room assignment Cervina decided to try out the on board bar. She encountered the beak mask creature again and decided to sit next to him.
"Mind if I join you?" Cervina asked. "Are you here on vacation too? By the way I'm Cervina"
"No I am on my way to see a patient. My name is Horatio, I'm a plague doctor. " Horatio said. Cervina had heard of plague doctors, she read about them in article she found on old medical practices. She thought that they had mostly died out as there were no need for plague doctors anymore.
"I didn't know there was any of those left. I thought the practice died out centuries ago." Cervina stated in disbelief. Horatio shook his head.
"It did, but there is a few of us left." Horatio sighed, he finished his drink then got up and stretched. "Most of us just do small jobs like the one I'm doing, which is house practices."
Cervina finished her drink then went to take a nap. The flight she took was extremely exhausting.
The following evening the sea turned rough as the ship passed through a storm. The ship pitched and rolled sharply with the waves. Cervina was reading a book and decided to go for a walk. Her room was underneath the first deck and was well covered from the rain. She found Horatio gripping the railing while leaning over the side of the ship. Horatio was prone to motion sickness in any kind of vehicle or vessel. He ate a large meal in the banquet room, which didn't help. Everything he had eaten was about to be over the side of the ship. Cervina decided she wanted to take a selfie with the doctor.
"Want to join me for a selfie?" Cervina, Horatio didn't answer, only continued to seemingly stare at the water.
"Are you okay?" Cervina asked. Horatio didn't answer. She pulled on him but Horatio death gripped the railings. She grabbed a panicked Horatio and proceeded to take a quick selfie with him. His once white face was now ghastly green color.
"You look terrible" Cervina commented. Horatio belched then covered his mouth to keep him from vomiting all over the deck.
"I always get terrible motion sickness when riding in anything I have no control over; it must be some kind of curse." Horatio mumbled, he hiccuped and groaned. "The rocking of the ship makes me feel very queasy. As does any kind of vehicle.".
The ship rocked sharply and Horatio hurriedly went back to leaning over the railing. Cervina turned her head away in disgust at the sound of retching noises. "Have you tried taking medicines for it?".
"Yes nothing works." Horatio managed to utter.
