So I went with the flow for a while. I figured no one would REALLY care if my Bulborb had three toes instead of two. I got to this point, where I'd attached two thirds of the first leg together. By then I'd moved into the bonus room so I could work while still listening to music and talking to people online (that's my laptop in the corner).

In my original pattern (which is why it's really only a theory), I was going to fold up the spaces in between the claws to make the toes. That red piece on the right was supposed to have another piece attached to it. I don't know. It makes sense in my head.
