We've gotten Anthrocon 2024 in the books, making history once again by gaining back the title of world's largest furry convention, as well as the first fur con to raise over $100,000 to charity! That proud feeling of being part of AC's history will stick with me through the upcoming months. But now, we've got events in the near future to look forward to.
I'll be at Eufuria in Albany, NY (Anthrocon's birthplace) this Saturday, July 20th. I'll be hosting a Sports Mascot Fan Meet N Greet at 10 in the morning there, so I'm really excited about that.
For their third year in the home city of PaWS, Popcult Anime Con returns to Waltham in late August. We are fortunate to have this mini-Anime Boston take place in our backyard and happily welcome it back for another year in the Watch City.
FurPocalypse is staying in Stamford, Connecticut, but this time, at a new hotel, the Hilton Hotel and Executive Meeting Center. Only a hop, skip, and a jump away from New York City, in the home of NBC Universal's Stamford Studios and the WWE, Stamford's been the host city for FurPoc since 2022. FP launched in 2014 in Cromwell, Connecticut, after the Nutmeg State's previous fur con, the Halloween-themed FurFright discontinued after their 2013 con. FurPocalypse has continued to provide Connecticut their annual furry celebration for almost a decade now (with the exception of 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic).
And speaking of nearing a full decade old, our local fur con, Anthro New England returns to the Westin in Boston Seaport District next January. This convention has grown so much so fast since it took off in 2015, this year's ANE already ranks 7th in attendance worldwide with 4,482! Will it exceed 5,000 in 2025? Will it become big enough to be considered for a move or expansion to the neighboring Boston Convention & Exhibition Center? Only one way to find out, and we'll find out by being there next January!
