Once upon a time, before there was "Silver and Gold" there was well loved Silverwing fanfic called "Gone Batty." Honestly it makes me tear up a little when I find out that there are people who still remember it and still wish for me to continue it. I promise I will one day. I just need to find the time and will to reread everything I wrote so I can remember things.
Anywho, I was asked to draw Goth who had caught a lovely young mouse named Anna with the intention of eating her. However he is stricken by how similar to Melody (someone he has begun developing feelings for) she is in terms of both beauty and inner strength that he actually considers sparing Anna and letting her go.

Goth's contemplating look is beautiful. I can see the gears turning as he considers the consequences of his future action.
He could spare this little mouse, but if he does so, would this mean he has to stop eating mice entirely? After all, it wouldn't be fair to mice if he just spares this one on a whim.
Of course, Goth could just eat her, but to him, it feels like turning on Melody herself.
Maybe he might keep her as a pet, as a compromise.
Surely even a mouse can give a king comfort on lonely nights...

Yes, exactly. Something like that X3.
But to be honest, it would be sweet to see those two interact a little more. At least for as long as Melody returns and convinces Goth to let Anna go.
Although imagine this: after spending some time with Goth, being treated well by him, getting food, and not having to worry about predators, Anna herself asks, if she can stay.
