Okay, so when I was first writing the Pax Draconica story, I had Fardon wearing some kind of modern body armour, like some kind of SWAT dragon. It has taken a long time to get someone to draw it, but here it is.
There are a few things that will probably need revising in future, for example making the helmet more closed, and maybe replacing the tail-axe with something more swordlike, or at least parallel with his tail rather than perpendicular to it.
I'm also not sure how to protect the wing-membranes without preventing him from being able to fly - that probably boils down to something forcefield-like.
However, this is a very good first pass and it's been very helpful in deciding what works, and what doesn't.

Instant love with a fetish for tactical and riot armor. 🖤
And yea, integrating wings on armor is definitely a bit of a challenge. An idea I saw for anthro avian wings (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28614159/), and which I used in a design (NSFW art: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55835526/) I came up with, involved a membrane that allows the feathers to be exposed for flight and gliding, and sealed away airtight when necessary. Something like that might be workable for membrane wings with a bit of tweaking.

Thanks! While it looking intimidating is definitely part of the plan, the main issue was "How to protect a dragon against modern weapons?". Ideally I would have preferred the visor to have a smaller surface area and the rest of the helmet just be opaque, but it was difficult to redline that for the artist. Something to fix next time.
