Honestly, don't wanna get too random on this, but this basically proves my theory on gods and mortals; gods are incredibly powerful, but they're basically stagnant in the sense that they do very similar things and are always going to be the same amount of power, but mortals slowly over time and generations grow more and more, becoming more powerful slowly over time, so eventually that growth leads to them becoming stronger than gods. Hence why gods, like these ones here for example, are so concerned about it. Not all gods act the same, but they more or less function the same, such as these providing different boons, but having the same reason to only give 49%.
Side note, even though most gods do it anyway, it does make sense here why they only give 49% to Virmir; this IS Virmir we're talking about. No way the gods are ignoring that fact nugget.
