Haven't done more detailed work recently, and wanted to try and get Rorik's design down. May make slight changes, but otherwise happy with this.
I can't do linework like this too heavily though, otherwise it starts to strain my hand - I prefer sketching rough where it's more relaxed due to bad habits growing up around art. (Sketching til 5/6am and only stopping because your hand has gone numb is not a smart idea).
That also then leads to not really posting as much when a lot of my sketches are more messy. I'm curious if people have a preference, or like the rougher sketches too.

What is it that causes more strain with ink than with pencil?
I can appreciate both for their own merits. On one hand there's something satisfying about crisp linework; on the other, the inherent looseness of sketches leaves more for the viewer's mind to interpret and fill in the gaps, which can make them seem better due to interpretation. It can also depend on the concept. Some things work better with the formality of tidy linework, while others would feel constrained.

Oh, I realized I could explain things a bit better - sketching with pencil is really painful for me at times if I'm not careful, due to habits I had when growing up. Trying to work on fixing that, but it's really hard.
Usually drawing in ink is actually way nicer to my wrist, but that's when I'm sketching only with ink, no pencil undersketch.
But when it comes to a pencil undersketch that I then finish with ink linework? That's where it returns back to being really rough on my wrist, because I'm focusing so heavily on getting the line precise that I start death gripping the pen again vs working more relaxed.
Personally, I love doing really rough sketches with ink. I just felt like there's a certain perception to ink as a medium where you expect to see it cleaner and pencil more rough, so when ink sketches are rougher they don't get quite as much attention.
But also I may just need to get to a point of not caring, when the rougher sketches are more fun for me to do. It is nice having a more clean final image sometimes, though!
