Hikama's parents had picked up on Freiza's plans to wipe out the saiyan race and decided that they will need to send him to a different plan to give him a chance at surviving. They sent him to Earth where his pod crashed in the United States. Here, he was found and put into an orphanage.

When he was 2, he had his first Great Ape transformation that caused a lot of damage to the orphanage but everyone managed to get out of the situation without any life-threatening injuries. The staff at the orphanage started to put thick blindfolds on him during the full moons to avoid this disaster ever happening again.

However, he became an angsty teen around age 14 and wanted to "ditch these stupid blindfolds". He took it off and the moon transformed him once again. Losing himself, he destroyed much of the city and killed many people. When he came back to, he was battered and bruised and bleeding in an unfamiliar area surrounded by the damage he had no idea was caused by his own hands.

Hikama was charged as an adult due to the severity of his crimes; but he managed to become friends with gang members who invited him in. These people became like family to him and he'd start training with them to become a good brawler and thief. His nonhuman strength and abilities impressed them and made him go up the ranks fast despite being so young. He would wear blindfolds on nights of the full moon, now that he understood how important it actually is.

At age 25, he is now the leader of the gang's right-hand and is expected to become the next boss. He is both quick on his feet and quick in the mind on top of being strong.
