It's been a while since I've done one of these, but I've had some ideas for more single-Pokemon playthroughs to do, so I beat Pokemon Platinum using only a Bastiodon named L-Button (because I've also been playing Elden Ring lately, and the L-Button is the button you press to defend with a shield in that game) :3
I got the idea to do a playthrough of one of the Sinnoh games with a fossil Pokemon since I thought maybe I'd be able to trade a Pokemon holding said fossil and be able to revive it as soon as I got to Oreburgh and start the playthrough from there, but it turns out that you can't actually revive fossils in those games until you've gotten the explorer kit in Eterna. I was still interested in doing a playthrough with one of the fossil Pokemon though, so I ended up doing the egg trading method again that I also did with Zonester three years ago, and I picked Shieldon as the Pokemon to do it with since I've minimally used Cranidos before but have never done the same with Shieldon due to Pearl being the last of the original Sinnoh games that I got to play and it being a version exclusive to that game unless you manage to roll a trainer ID that allows you to get it in Platinum. Also, L-Button's mother was a Shieldon who's fossil I traded over to and revived in SoulSilver named Shield Mom, but his father was Papa D the Ditto again, which makes him Zonester's brother :3
As for how the playthrough went, it was hard to make progress in right at the start due to every Gen 3 and 4 fossil Pokemon being in the Erratic experience group, meaning I barely got any exp early in the game. It was alleviated a bit by L-Button's defenses being so high that most moves in the early game only did 1 HP of damage to him, but he would get knocked out instantly every time a Machop entered the field, and he also did so little damage to other rock types that I also had to use Taunt to PP stall all of Roark's attacking moves so his Pokemon would struggle and faint... which is both the only time I've ever had to PP stall a first gym leader and the only time Taunt has ever been useful :3 The rest of the playthrough went pretty well past that point though, and despite having trouble building up exp during the early game, L-Button actually raked up so much more experience over time that he ended up hitting level 100 on literally the final trainer before I got to Victory Road, making him the first Pokemon outside of Gens 5, 8, and 9 to hit level 100 before beating the game in one of these playthroughs for me. I did also have to PP stall Bertha's Rhyperior's and Cynthia's Garchomp's Earthquakes though because they kept spamming them and doing too much damage for me to be able to hit either of them until they ran out of PP, but the rest of the league went pretty well.
...also, back in January, I beat another Nuzlocke, this time being of Omega Ruby! It went a bit better than the first one I did of X last year, and I even managed to carry a full team all the way to Steven, and while five members of my team made it through the entire league (including a Swampert named Swampy, a Hariyama named Fajita, a Gyarados named Old Rod, a Swellow named ChewySwallow, and a Lanturn named Lightbulb), the only Pokemon I lost was a Banette named Dark Chao who died in a blaze of glory against Steven's Metagross. RIP Dark Chao o7
