Bio: Eralind is a Pale Silverfish insect who comes from Nirandel, a beautiful kingdom illuminated by glowing mushrooms and the large, white roots of the Queen. She is the eldest princess, her younger sister being the second princess.

Eralind is a tall, thin bug with a pale white shell. Her body has a soft underside that is coloured blue, which stretches across her torso and abdomen mainly. She has beautiful bright blue eyes, with lighter blue markings around them and bushy eyelashes. There is a blue pattern on her forehead too, and her head comes up into a rounded spike at the top. She also wears a ponytail, tying it back with a simple green band.
Her species have six wings total, spreading out evenly with 3 on each side. They can fold back into just 2 seamlessly. Her abdomen is long and very flexible, and has 2 antennae that travel along the sides, only sticking out at the very end.

Personality: She is a gentle and kind princess, treating others well and always happy to help. She does have her conflicts though. As a skilled magician, she is constantly pressured by her mentor to study further beyond her own desires, and due to this she acts coldy towards him. So while kind, she will stand up for herself, even if it is against authority.
Deep down she’s nervous too, wishing to someday leave Nirandel and travel the world, though she fears the outside world too, so she stays where she was born. Eralind relies on others a lot when she is out of her comfort zone, usually clinging to her father or sister.

Story Events:

🔶Nirandel- Eralind lived a very calm life growing up. Her kingdom is peaceful and beautiful, what’s not to love? It is a place of magic, where insects from around the world come to study and learn magic, including soul. Some say they even teach forbidden magic, such as void…

Eralind’s mother and father are a fun duo. While her father is the same species as them, her mother is a rootlike creature akin to the White Lady. Absolutely gigantic in size, her roots weave through the kingdom, illuminating it and giving off a unique energy that enhances the kingdoms magic capabilities. She’s like a mana-generator.

Their family grew up with little confrontation from outside kingdoms. At most some of the students who came to learn had tried to use their learnings for bad. Nothing the guards couldn’t deal with. As they grew up though, word of the kingdom Highreign became an ever more growing threat and worry.

It wouldn’t be until Eralind was an adult that life would begin to really change for her. Upon meeting Harrold, she wouldn’t think much of him at first, thinking he’s another student here to learn. Regardless- he had entered the kingdoms castle without authorization, a strange move for sure.
He’d explain his goal was to claim a relic weapon from the kingdom, a blade that channels Soul through it. She personally brought him to her father, having never heard of this relic before. Harrold would have to prove his worth to be able to take the weapon, as it is a forbidden item locked away.

Despite Harrold promising to do his best, he would get side tracked on the mission, and ended up becoming enamoured by Eralind. The two would form a close bond over the coming months.

After Harrold had settled in Nirandel, a familiar affair played out. The King and Queen being forced to send one of their daughters to marry their Prince- all the way in Highreign. Eralind willingly steps up to the offering. While scary, she cares for her kingdom and people.
Harrold, with prior knowledge to this, insists he join the journey, both worrying for Eralind’s safety, as well as wanting this to prove his worthiness for the sword.

His worries were answered, as he scouted ahead every step of the way- and there they were, the exact same bandits from all those years ago. This time he managed to ambush the ambushers; they successfully made it to Highreign- while the actual captain who murdered Valleda escaped in the last moment.

Highreign is its own story though. Meeting their killer face to face, Emery, as well as the four kings, and other secrets to uncover.

🔶Highreign- After arriving, Eralind, Harrold and the travellers are welcomed with… both celebrations, but also something more akin to… shock? The first time a princess has actually successfully made the journey.

Eralind is to be wed to the Prince, whom is bedridden at the moment. They stay for about 2 weeks, with Eralind getting to know the four kings in that time while the Prince recovers. Harrold sticks around as well at Eralind’s request- as well as his concern for her.

In this time Eralind learns about the kingdom, about their hardships, the loss of their beloved Queen and their reasons for constant war. But with Eralind arriving, this is surely to change things for the better, right?

Eralind gets to connect with two others in this time. An appointed knight named Emery, who she shows great kindness too, and a maiden named Ira who does flirt with the princess a fair bit- going against the maiden’s code.

Turns out… they were both assassins learning more about Eralind, both trying to pick her apart. Emery being the one who tried to assassinate her before on the journey here. But through Eralind’s kind heart did Emery start to seek change. Even Ira, who was more set on sticking to the kings plans was fighting feelings of regret, which would eventually win over later in life.

After Harrold and Eralind escape Highreign, a war takes place back at Nirandel, and Highreigns secret weapon will be unveiled. Little did they know… this would be the last war Highreign starts, as their lies, even to their own kingdom, all come out in this one last fight.

In a strange twist, it is Emery and Harrold that team up at the very end to bring all to fruition.

🔶After the war, and a restructure in Highreign’s leaders. With this momentous quest complete, Harrold is awarded honorary armor and a kiss from Eralind <3

Relationships:
🔶 Nirandel King & Queen- Eralind is very close to her parents. Despite her father being rather strict, he is understanding and cares for his kids feelings. The Queen as well loves her children so much. She is always there for them, even throughout Nirandel they can communicate via the weaving roots that fill the kingdom.

🔶Ceralina- Her sister, and the second Princess of Nirandel. Despite their conflicting personalities, Eralind cares deeply for her, as she does with Eralind too. They have plenty of squabbles still though, I assure you.

🔶Pallid Light Moths- Extremely powerful moths of Nirandel, both in magic and physical strength. Eralind gets along with them greatly but has to come to terms with the fact she will never be as tall, beautiful, strong… magnificent as them. Oh, she’s jealous, oh…

🔶Mentor- As a child, Eralind got along well with her mentor, she learned everything from him, but the older she got and the more he tried to pressure her into learning her magic, she started to grow distant and ignore his recommendations. They don’t get along nearly as well now.

🔶Harrold- Oh, dear sweet Eralind, how she caught his attention with but a glance. He cherishes her more than anyone else, as she does with him. He feels like Eralind fills in a gap in his life.

🔶Emery- Emery never really had a connection to Eralind until after the events in Highreign. Despite talking to her a little and finding Eralind cute, they only really got to know each other once she started living with them in Nirandel. Emery’s feelings and thoughts are a mess around Eralind, finding her lovely, friendly, gentle, and it saddens Emery knowing she could have killed this beautiful person. And yet… Eralind shows little to no worry about Emery now.

🔶Ira- Despite the fact Ira ALSO tried to assassinate Eralind, once again Eralind is none the wiser and admires Ira’s beauty and skills. This admiration alone was enough to win Ira over.

🔶Kummi- Eralind finds Kummi scary- heck she finds the whole Grimm Troupe intimidating. Kummi is the only bug Eralind is actively nervous around, and would NOT want to be left in a room with her alone.

🔶Soul Successor- Eralind takes great interest and admiration in the Soul Successor- even if their experiments with soul and void are… worrisome. Both being skilled magicians though, they have some common grounds.

🔶Arid- Arid sees a lot of Valleda in Eralind, but is aware she is not the same person. There is an air of protection they feel towards her, and they’d stay close if it wasn’t for Eralind finding it a little intrusive. While Eralind appreciates Arid’s gestures, she’s intimidated by their sheer size.

🔶Pale Daughter- Princess to princess… they get along really well together and spent a fair bit of time in Hallownest wandering the Queen’s Gardens. Eralind desires to help her bring Hallownest back to its former glory.

🔶Mushroom lover, it’s her favourite food. Eating the glowing mushrooms of Nirandel might be why she has a faint ethereal glow to her.
🔶Avid reader and enjoyer of both fiction and non-fiction. She has daydreamed about being rescued by a noble knight many a time.
🔶Has tried to use a bow before and train with the Dragonfly archers. It did not go well… she sent someone to the medic bay.
