His first duel with a Crest was no walk in the park, especially since she was practically the leader of the Crests... a certain dingo was in for one Hell of a sword fight!

Upon finding out about a part of his ancestry was from a forgotten Crest; Ken Dalton found out he had latent powers after one particular fight. The next to face him was the Crest of Light; a feline by the name of Kate. Like Ambar, she too was a parent, having a son and daughter of her own; the latter of which wanted to be friends with the dingo's pups. This warmed the grown-up canine's heart. Kate was a true lady, prim and proper and polite... though he did feel that she wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone who dared harm her family.

When the two met, they acted cordial and talked for a bit; Kate even offered Ken some tea, which he accepted. The feline had a Japanese-esque lifestyle as she was pretty much a modern Samurai (though it was a miracle and blessing she wasn't like Tatewaki Kuno), which earned her more respect from the canine. As she was a later addition to the Crests, Kate was shocked to find out there was a Crest neither she, nor most of the Crests and any acolyte knew of. Didn't help that Ambar kept dodging her questions...

At any rate, Kate was hesitant to face the apparent "new Crest", seeing as he didn't seem all that much... even if he was handsome... When Ken showed determination; the Crest of Light accepted the fight.

The two met on the lakeside where her home resided, bowed, then took out their weapons: a three-section staff for Ken and Katana and Wakizashi for Kate. The battle commenced underway, both showing neither was any slouch, though the dingo had more trouble. Like Ambar before her, Kate was a strong fighter, but not only that... she was fast, too! It was by miracle the Aussie still had all his limbs, though he did sustain a few cuts here and there.

Though Kate tried to remain stoic, even she had to admit her opponent was strong; certainly stronger than another she fought not long ago. She even teased their battle to be "sparring". After analyzing her attacks... Ken tapped into his new powers and went on the attack! Caught off guard, Kate did her best to remain on top... only to find her sword knocked out of her hands... and her opponent standing over her.

She had lost.

Taking the defeat in stride, Kate accepted the dingo as the victor and welcomed him to the Crests. Helping her up, Ken complimented her for keeping him on his feet, to which she responded by complimenting his skills in combat; even if some of his fighting styles were relatively recent.

As with the previous fight, Ken collapsed from exhaustion, leading Kate and her son to carry their new guests in.

Being a hospitable woman, Kate insisted he stayed with her... and seeing as he was a single father... maybe "help" her with... "unwinding"...
