I haven't done an update on the old fursuit for a while. Slowly getting there, being my first suit things are taking a long time as it's a bit of a learning curve ^^
Well the head is progressing, I'm currently adding the hair and have to finish off the back of the head and make the hair jewellery and it'll be done.
There was a while I wasn't working on this becuase I really didn't like the fur I was using and knew I'd hate the suit if I carried on using it. So it was save up again to get fur I was happy with. Once I get that I also made the decision to go with the white/pink elf version of Astro rather than the all white Fay version. I just felt having the fay wings as well was too much faff and also the all white might look too boring.
So I've recovered the foot paws and tail in the last WIP http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3344437/ with the new fur. I also added on another 6 inches to the tail as I felt it was a little to short. I remade the hand paws with the new fur and colouration.
On the head, I kept the upper side of the mouth as mesh for ventilation (as it can't be seen) and put some netting across the back so you can't see my face. (There's a slit for a straw for when I want a drink). The nose and mouth detail is made out of foam and felt.
Sadly I forgot to photograph the furring process. I made a duct-tape pattern and sewed the fave pieces together. I then glued the whole piece on. It looks like a huge white blob at that point. But and hour with the ole shavers revealed a face underneath all that XD BTW the furred heads are photographed in a mirror, that's why the stars look like they're on the wrong side XD
The eyes are plastic with foam boarders and fake eyelashes. For the iris' is used some transparent black ribbon. Seeing through the ribbon is clear, however. I have the usual blind spot from the bridge of the nose and no peripheral vision. However, I can look down out the mouth to see where i'm walking which is good.
The hair is a wig. It's not Kanekelon as wigs made out that tend to be shiny and tangle up horrifically. It's one that has a high temperature restraint fibre. It's very soft and more hair like and can be finger combed. To get the fit right I cut it up and glued it on . I'm now working round gluing down the fibres to prevent any netting showing through!

Sure you can! I got it from this ebay seller- http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/cosplay-l.....id=p4340.l2559
Look in the description for the wig being high temperature resistant as these ones are nicer the the kanekelon ones.
