Just Hado going ghost in his p̶a̶r̶t̶i̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ latest Phantom Mode look, before conveying my Lucario and (obvious) Danny Phantom inspiration further this was a starry jade sort of transformation for Hado.
Lore wise on why that change took root? Hado had his ghost half rend from his body by his nemesis (and uncle) Plasma, his ghost half was then given to his cousin (and clone) Mara, whom he found out was sinister yet misguided.
During a skirmish, Mara blasts a powerless Hado with a cluster of ectoplasmic energy. What she didn't anticipate was that Hado would absorb it into his DNA and thus awaken a redux of his Phantom Mode.
The two of them then work together to take down Plasma and Hado lets Mara keep the starry jade Phantom Mode for herself. Yeah... Kindred Spirits influenced me there 😅
