They're things because they're not representative entirely of their respective species and also because they are magic and taste like their names.

Caramel likes bright colored shirts and being happy and Whipped Cream likes skirts and kilts and being a grumpy poo-poo head.

They're also both prey animals and hollo can't play with them unless he has a muzzle. D:

W.C.'s markings are a bit light, I think, so maybe you don't see them but they're there.
Fun fact - did you know that rabbits don't have paw pads? rather, their paw pads are covered in fur. They have hairy feet! haha
